Trading Floor Extenders (PC,
D3000, EBS, etc.) have been developed by Mighter as a
solution to one of the most frustrating problems in
today’s trading floor……too many PC’s under the desk!
For some time there has been a trend to move away from
video-switching onto a stand-alone Networked Workstation
environment. This has resulted in an overcrowding of
PC’s under the traders’ desks giving Traders, IT
managers and their staff little space to work within. By
incorporating the Mighter KVM Extenders, the bank can
move the PC’s out from under the desk and into the
clean air, temperature controlled, secure Data Center.
While providing more space for the trader to work, it
also reduces noise, heat, damage to the system (from
spillages, carpet dust, etc) and not to mention security
threats from illegal installation of software, or the
removal of information such as client lists via a mini
data drive.

Moves and changes on a modern day trading floor are
hugely expensive. However the trading groups themselves
need the flexibility to be able to move around as their
business requirements dictate. IT departments should be
able to accommodate this to the best of their ability,
both speedily and at the lowest possible cost. On
average it is not unusual that every trader on a large
trading floor will move at least once per year, and in
some cases many more times. That movement alone causes
untold stress on PC equipment, Cabling Infrastructure as
well as the personnel required to complete these moves.
