Remote Extender
The Modern trading floors have increasingly higher
densities of personnel to space. Using remote technology
allows for these ever higher densities, with the
associated cost savings, to be achieved with ever
greater added benefits. By locating the CPU’s away from
the actual trading environment the trading floor air
conditioning requirements can be reduced, the CPU
environment can be cooled to a temperature more suited
to computer equipment (i.e. much cooler than the trading
floor, and much cleaner) which enhances the life and
reliability of the equipment. While security is enhanced
dramatically the IT Support personnel also have quicker
access to the equipment without any further disturbance
to trading operations. Adding to these benefits are the
cost savings associated with adds, moves and changes by
never having to physically move a PC. From these points
alone, the costs benefit analysis shows in favour of
remote computer equipment away from the trader desks.
The highly reliable and easy to install Mighter
Millennium USB KVM Peripheral Extender delivers USB
style keyboard and mouse, high quality SVGA signal (1600
x 1280) digital audio across twisted pair network cable
(Cat 5e/6) making it ideally suited for today’s high
pressurises trading floors. Both the stereo speaker and
microphone signals are digital, delivering excellent
sound quality with the minimum noise. No software is
required and distances of 100 Meters (330ft) across high
quality structured cable can be easily achieved. By
using reliable interface power operation at the
transmission end the unit only requires external power
supply at the desktop end. The unit can be used in a
stand alone environment or may be rack-mounted in an
optional 2U Rack Kit.
The Mighter MLNM USB Extender is also easily FLASH
upgradeable making it future proof.
